Entries:
All orienteers inrending entering this event need to be aware that the area (Williamson Park) is embargoed for those who may wish to be competitve in the JK Elite TrailO event on the same area which will take place on Good Friday. Anyone running at this event would be automatically rendered non-competitive at the Elite TrailO.
Only pre-entries are allowed with no entry on the day. However entreies will remain open as close as possible to the event, so long as there are maps available. Entry fees are £6 for adults, £3 for juniors (under 21) and students. Please note, these fees are the same for individuals, pairs or small groups. e.g. two adults running together would pay just £6, not £12. There is space on the entry page to add details of any other persons sharing your entry.
If you are a newcomer to the sport and do not have a an orienteering dibber (to record visiting the controls, also called an SI-Card) then please indicate that you need to borrow an SI-Card.
Courses:
Orange – suitable for Juniors with some map reading experience and family groups with no experience
Green – experienced orienteers only. A physically and technically demanding course
Score - suitable for beginners and experienced orienteers. Navigate around your choice of controls to maximise your score. Each control visited is worth points, there is a maximum time limit and penalty for being late. Make sure you have a watch!
Controls (including the finish) are in beacon mode so they can be punched contactlessly if you have a SIAC. This does not apply to the dibbers available for hire.
Terrain:
Map A4 1:3000 2.5m contour
A mature city park, crerated on the site of an old quarry. A confusing network of paths, many steep slopes and multiple route choices provide plenty of challenges.
Start:
15 minutes start blocks, starts between 12.30 and 13.30.
The Start is close to the parking area. Only go to the start just prior to starting.

Results will not be displayed during the event but will be on the website www.sroc.org in the evening.
Facilities:
First Aid – a first aid kit will be available at download for people to self administer.
Travel Directions/parking:
Parking is in the main Williamson Park car park. A small fee is levied, remember to pay and display.

Safety:
There are several high crags in the park. Most of these are fenced off and courses are planned to allow route choices that avoid them. Some of the smaller paths can be slippery when wet.
You must report to the finish and download after the event, even if you retire.
Waterproof jackets will be made compulsory if conditions require it.
