The Steel City 60 is a stunning circular route of Sheffield, along public footpaths and trails for 60 incredible miles showcasing the very best of this iconic city.
Setting off from modern facilities at St Georges Park in High Green, the route takes in amazing trails through Woodland, Moorland, Wetlands & Parklands as well as beautiful hamlets & villages. Sheffield is the greenest city in Europe and is enveloped by stunning countryside with some spectacular views along the course, which follows the boundary as closely as possible.
Entry options:
- Walk Solo for 60 miles
- Run Solo for 60 miles
- Relay Team of 2 attempting 30 miles per entrant
- Relay Team of 3 attempting 20 miles per entrant
- Relay Team of 6 attempting 10 miles per entrant
Winners Trophies for 1st Female, 1st Male, 1st all Female Relay Team, 1st all Male Relay Team, 1st Mixed Female/Male Team.
What's included:
- Event Venue with Free Parking, hot food & drink and changing rooms with hot showers
- Feed Stations every 10 miles, only 1 in an event shelter the rest in Community/Church Halls with toilets, food and hydration
- Food suitable for vegan diets and coeliac diets
- Drop bag at half way Feed Station for fresh clothes and personal fuel
- Hot food at 20 miles, 30 miles, 50 miles and the finish
- Generous 22 Hour cut off time for walkers/20 hours for runners

This is a challenging distance with challenging terrain. Entrants are expected to have experience with such events including an ability to map read and navigate. Whilst the route follows much of the waymarked Sheffield Country Walk, the route is not marked for 60 miles.
