Dukeries 30 & 40
Saturday 4th May 2024
All HOBO Pace races are fully marked out and marshalled. No navigation other than common sense to stay on track is required at this event. Basic refreshments will be provided at regular intervals and at the finish.
All finishers receive a HOBO Pace medal with the race engraving.
Due to spiralling costs we are unfortunately no longer able to include the T-shirt in the entry fee. You can choose to purchase a T-shirt in addition to the entry if you wish or even choose to plant a tree instead.
Please note this is one lap and is actually a 30.8 & 40.8 Mile loop respectively.
There is a generous cut off of 10.5 hours to complete this event making it very possible for all abilities of runner to complete.
The 30 & 40 mile loops take in some of the most beautiful and undiscovered sandstone villages and historical sites in England. The 30 & 40 mile is for runners only. Sorry no walkers, this refers to ramblers with no intention of making the cut off! Yes you are allowed to walk as a runner at times!
The races start in the heart of Sherwood Forest and keeping mostly to forest trails and footpaths, the route passes charming lodges, through Creswell Crags and skirts the Welbeck Estate. It then crosses Clumber Park and through peaceful farm land before looping back to pass by the Thoresby Estate before returning to Sherwood Forest. The 40 miler passes The Major Oak!
This circular loop is ideal for those fairly new to running trails or to those who wish to enjoy a safe and scenic supported run with friends. Equally, this race is also ideal for experienced runners seeking a trail ultra PB!
