This Street Orienteering event is centred around Earby (twixt Colne and Skipton on the A56) using an OpenOrienteering map at 1:10000 scale.
The event centre is at the Punch Bowl pub, BB18 6JJ. Parking will be on a wide industrial estate road nearby.
There are two courses: One with a 60 minute time limit, the other with a 75 minute time limit. There will not be any physical SI controls on the course. All control sites will be on street furniture etc, with written answers of letters/numbers. There will be separate league tables for the 60 and 75 minute courses throughout the PFO 2023 series.
Controls will have varying points values (10, 20, ..... 60) depending upon the distance and difficulty. There will be 1 penalty point deducted for each 3 seconds that you are late, which is equivalent to 20 points deducted per minute late.
This event is pre-entry and pre-pay only. See entry details below. There will be NO Registration and NO entry on the day.
Entry cost is: Solo (£4.00), Pair (£6.00) or Trio (£7.00). [Note: Age 15- must run as pair/trio with adult, 16-17 pair or pair/trio with adult, 18+ individual.] See PFO website for further events information. Entries will close at midday on competition day, but entries after midnight on the Monday BEFORE the event will be subject to available maps.
All competitors must wear a hi-viz vest and, during winter or twiglight events, carry suitable lighting and a backup.
Covid security is the responsibility of the competitor. Do not attend if you have symptoms.
