The Leicestershire Round is a 100-mile trail tour around the County of Leicestershire. We have split this into 3 individual ultramarathons to cover the full distance in a series of events with a Spring Summer series.

This event, Leg 1, starts off at Burbage Common in Hinckley. From there you will pass through a number of small villages and towns to include Aston Flamville, Sharnford, Claybrook Magna/Parva, Frolesworth, Liere, Dunton Bassett, Ashby Magna, Willoughby Waterleys, Peatling Magna, Bruntingthorpe, Sheersby, Saddington, Gumley, Foxton Locks, East Langton and finish in Glooston Village Hall.

The Leicestershire Round route is waymarked. The course will also have flag markers.

The scenery on the route is beautiful and well worth taking some photos (which can be showcased on our gallery page).
Please be aware that you will also be running over different terrain and some spots on the route could be quite uneven on the foot and quite boggy at times.

Registration: 7.00am at Acorns Cafe, Burbage Common, Hinckley. LE10 3DD 

Start: 8am at Acorns Cafe

Finish Location: Glooston Village Hall, Andrews Lane, Glooston, Market Harborough, LE16 7SQ. Finish cut 6.00pm.

Limited free parking at the start and finish. Equipped with Water, Coke, hot vegetable stew, flapjacks and a selection of cakes.

Distance: 53km (33/34 Miles) approximately

Climb: 560 metres (1850ft)

Bag drop at the start – will be taken to the finish venue free of charge

Kit list:
It is essential that every runner takes all of the below items with them on the race . Unfortunately, if you do not bring the complete kit with you then this will result in disqualification and not being able to take part in the race.

• 500ml of water
• Nutrition (energy bars)
• Waterproof jacket with taped seams
• Emergency blanket (can get small foil ones)
• Hat or buff
• Head torch
• Whistle
• Gloves
• Mobile phone
• Map route
• Emergency mobile number of the race organiser/director which is 07856292688 (must be stored in your mobile phone)

This kit is essential and standard for all of the Runtrapel Escapes ultra marathon running events. If there is a significant change in weather then the list could change so make sure you check this too. Any update will be made via email and social media prior to the event.

Every finisher receives a medal, top 3 female and male finishers get a goody bag.

A GPX files of the exact route is available. The file is provisional and will be confirmed as soon as entries close.

The Leicestershire round book is available to buy at the end of the race at a cost of £10.95. This is worth keeping a souvenir especially if you decide to take part in all 3 series to complete the whole Leicestershire 100 mile route.

If the whole 100 mile route is completed over the 3 races then you will also receive the Leicester round badge free of charge.
