  • Owners should clean up after their dog
  • One dog per runner

Race start: There will be a mass start for solo runners at 10:00, with the Canicross start 5 minutes later, and times being adjusted accordingly.

During the race:

Injuries: The race is closely marshalled and we have First Aid medics to support us. If you are unfortunate enough to sustain an injury, please ask a fellow runner to inform the next marshal. They will inform the Race Director, and help will be mobilised. You would be well advised to carry an extra layer of clothing to keep you warm whilst you wait. It would also be very helpful if you had the app 'What3words' on your phone, as this will make locating you much easier. To be clear, we haven't had any serious injuries on the Keynsham Dandy yet!

The course: The race route is alongside river and through rolling agricultural land and woods, with the obvious slip and trip hazards. Please take particular care if there are livestock in the fields, and WALK if you see cattle with calves.

Marshals: Over 30 TACH members will be involved in making the race a safe and fun event. Please thank them, as they will be out on the course for several hours

Time penalties: there a 2 streams on the Keynsham Dandy. As we are hosting the race in October, the water will be a reasonable temperature. Of course you don't HAVE to run through the streams, but there will be time penalties: 10 minutes at Woolard and 5 minutes at Tucking Mill.

Water stations: there will be 3 water stations during the race, but it will be CUPLESS. So, if you wish to make use of the stations, please bring a cup.

Strictly no entries on the day.

Headphones: Please note that bone conducting headphones are permitted. In-ear headphones are banned for the Keynsham Dandy, and runners using these headphones will be disqualified.  This helps provide safety for all runners, in terms of hearing instructions from marshals, on road sections and being aware of the needs of fellow runners. There are several road sections on the Keynsham Dandy.

Finally, proceeds from the race will provide a donation to the Keynsham Food Bank. So thankyou for supporting people in need.
