To get a waiting list entry just enter as normal. No payment is required at this stage as there is no guarantee of being offered a place. Now in its 8th year and firmly established in the autumn calendar, the Allithwaite 8 has an enviable reputation as a friendly and uniquely local event. Around 8 miles/13 km of trail and fell and a bit of road, with around 1080 ft/330m ascent showcasing some of the best routes on the gorgeous Cartmel peninsula in the southern Lake District (around 2/3 off-road)
Marshalled and waymarked, the race starts at the Community Centre, Allithwaite (post code LA11 7QJ).
Off-road shoes recommended. Hat/gloves and full body cover/waterproofs required. (kit requirements confirmed at race registration 9.30 – 10.30 am).
Minimum age 16 years on race day (with parental consent if under 18)
Great prizes for 1st, 2nd 3rd open men and women including cash and local food/ drink. Prizes for veteran and U18s. Entry profits support local causes - the village school, community centre and church which provides parking.
Free car parking close to the venue – please follow signs within the village. Final details will be sent out to pre-registered runners and available on our website www.allithwaiterunningclub.org.uk after entries close.
Toilets and refreshments available at race HQ - Allithwaite Community Centre.
Start time 11.00 (last registration/ number collection 10.30) There will be a pre-race briefing around 20 minutes before start time at race HQ.
No water stations en route to reduce plastic waste – please bring your own if needed. There will be water at the finish - please bring a cup.
Other refreshments (hot drinks and sandwiches) may be bought at the finish – funds go to Allithwaite Community Centre.
