The route was initially created by members of the local churches. It follows Public Footpaths taking in the delights of Lanhydrock National Trust Estate, Redmoor Nature Reserve, glimpses of The Saint's Way and Helman Tor, The Beacon Nature Reserve, Cardinham Woods, Lanivet, Nanstallon, Cardinham Village and Bodmin.

A group of us used the route to complete the first Virtual London Marathon in October, 2020. We had every season you could get. The horizontal hailstorm was unexpected!

Expect to be rewarded with beautiful views along the way and to be greeted by wonderful volunteers from the local communities at the Aid Stations. These are all at the local churches (except Lanhydrock which is in the main car park). We have support from all ages across the communities; from the local playgroups and schools, youth groups; Scouts, Army and Air Cadets, local church groups, bell ringing groups, people from the elder communities. People who are able bodied and groups from other diversities. We then share any money from the event with these groups. After 3 events we have shared £9600.

Enjoy stretches of local roads to connect you to some glorious sections of mud! You will encounter stiles and interesting sights! Run (or walk) the length of a tree in Cardinham Woods to gain lung busting elevation! Enjoy the Bluebells at Lanhydrock and Lamorick. Look out for the newborn lambs in the fields as you whiz past.

We try to signpost along the way as best we can using biodegradable tape, arrows and marshals. We provide a written description of the route as well as a GPX file.

Runners will be delighted to know the final mile of both the marathon and the half marathon is downhill and then back up the steps to St Petroc's church. You will be rewarded with your bespoke medal (designed by a wonderful lady from the cornish running community for 2025), collect your well earned t-shirt and a complimentary drink served by the ladies of the church.

The Half marathon will be part of the local Multi Terrain Running Series for 2025
