The South Pennine 24 is hosted by the South Pennine Long Distance Walkers Association (LDWA).
The 24 mile route, with 3900ft of ascent, is a fantastic foray into the Dark Peak and the South Pennine Moors. A variety of terrain will be encountered from wild moorland to well graded footpaths and bridleways. Hopefully you will enjoy the stunning views the area has to offer.

The event is open to all walkers and runners who are competent and suitably equipped at taking part in long distance events during the Winter months. A route description & walked gpx file of the event route will be emailed to entrants from mid February.
The event headquarters and start/finish will be Dovestone Sailing Club, Greenfield (via Bank Lane ,off A635 Holmfirth Road) with adjoining Pay & Display parking (currently £4.40): please car share if possible.
No Mass Start . Registration from 0800 until 0900 . Register then set off straight away . Slower walkers earliest , quicker walkers / joggers from 0830 and fell runners closest to 0900 . All to finish by 1730 .
The event will be fully supported with drinks / pastries from 0730 , food and drink at four checkpoints with soup at the finish , subject to any Covid restrictions . Certificate to all finishers on request .
