Start/finish at Buxton Community School, College Road, Buxton SK17 9EA
A choice of 26.2 mile and 14.3 mile routes. The long route goes through the Western Peak District and includes Axe Edge, Goyt Valley, Shining Tor, Lamaload Reservoir, Kettleshulme, Taxal Moor and Fernilee Dam, with a total ascent of 4000ft. The short route also goes through the Western Peak District, going to Axe Edge and the Goyt Valley and returning via Fernilee Dam to Buxton, with 2000ft of ascent.
Car parking at the College Road entrance to the School as directed by Marshals. If necessary the Marshals may direct Participants to alternative parking.
Registration from 6.30am.
Staggered start:-
7.30am for slow walkers and slow runners.
8.00am for walkers
9.00am for runners.
All entrants must finish by 6.00pm at Buxton Community School.
This year we will be using the Fabian4 timing system and all wristbands must be handed back at the finish.
We welcome and encourage under 18s on the event but they must be accompanied by an responsible adult. By submitting an entry for anyone under 18 you accept the responsibility for this.
As parts of this walk are in areas of the Peak District National Park and over moorland, please ensure that you wear or carry adequate equipment for the terrain and weather. You should include suitable footwear, waterproofs, warm clothing, map, compass and whistle.
No dogs allowed.
Refreshments at checkpoints and at the finish a hot meal.
(Please note that limited water will be available at Checkpoint 1 and we would suggest making sure that you have enough water when leaving HQ to get to Checkpoint 2)
For entrants with dietary requirements we can cater for vegetarians, vegans and gluten-free, please use the selection boxes when you complete the entry form.
Please bring your own mug to use on the event. No mug, no drink. A mug with the Goyt Valley Challenge Logo will be available to buy for £3.00.
A commemorative Buff will be available to purchase for £9.00.
Certificates to all finishers if requested.

NOTE: ANY NON-LDWA MEMBERS ARE NOT COVERED BY THE LDWA INSURANCE and High Peak LDWA can not be responsible for any accidents which may occur (why not consider joining the LDWA for £20.00 per annum and you will be covered by LDWA insurance for all of the events you enter throughout the year AND you will get your entry fee cheaper)
