We can't quite believe this is our third series of canicross races at Whinlatter Forest, Dodd Wood and Grizedale Forest, but we are delighted to bring you 9 events this season. Each event follows the same format and starts at 9am with individual starts for each athlete so that all dogs have the space they need to start safely. The courses are a mix of forest roads and trails.
This is a new route for us. Both routes are longer, but we are pleased to still be offering two distances, one slightly easier than the other, but both a new challenge. Our shorter option is around 9k and has 380m of ascent. It is all on wide runnable trails. Our longer option is 12K, and has 500m of ascent. Both routes are all on wide forest tracks so perfectly suitable to run with two dogs and the dogs must be run on a suitable harness. Runners are welcome to compete without dogs. The event is chip timed and will be marked. GPX files are available to download too.
