This is the last weekend in our 2024 / 2025 series and is our annual Double Header. There's no pressure to enter both events for those whose dogs (and legs) can take it, you can enjoy racing in two beautiful forests on consecutive days, namely Dodd Wood and Whinlatter. Each event follows the same format and starts at 9am with individual starts for each athlete so that all dogs have the space they need to start safely. The courses are a mix of forest roads and trails. Please note that our Dodd event is on Saturday.
This is our original route at Dodd Wood which contours around the summit of Dodd, providing a stunning run down with superb views across Derwentwater and the Coledale Fells. As the majority of this course is on wide trails we allow two dogs per runner, but please note there are some narrower sections near the start. All dogs must be run on a suitable harness. Runners are also welcome to compete without dogs. The longer option is an 8K loop with 330m of ascent. There is a shorter option, which avoids some of the ascent is 5K and 240m of vert. This is recommended for beginners or those seeking an easier route.
The event is chip timed and will be marked. GPX files are available to download too.
