Start/Finish
Registration 06.45-07.50. Start 08.00 at Greenmount Old School Community Centre - Brandlesholme Road, Greenmount, BL8 4DS (SD 778143).
Time Limit
9 hours. Checkpoint 4 will close at 13:30 hours. Entrants arriving after this time will be retired. Long route entrants must arrive at the cut off point (7.5 miles) by 10.15. Anyone arriving after 10.15 will automatically be diverted to the short route. All entrants to finish by 17.00.
Safety
All entrants must follow the route description checking in at all checkpoints. All retirees must inform an event official. Event Marshals are authorised to short route or retire anyone failing to comply with the event rules or who in their opinion is unfit to continue or unable to complete within the set time limit. The food provided at checkpoints cannot be guaranteed free from allergens.
Equipment
To include:- Clothing and Footwear appropriate to the event, waterproofs, compass, whistle, mug and one of the following maps:-1:50000 OS109 Manchester or 1:25000 West Pennine Moors Explorer 287. Please bring your own copy of the route description. Electronic versions of route and maps are allowed.
Entries
Runners welcome. Entrants must be 14 years or over on the day of the event. Under 18s are restricted to the 18 mile route and must be accompanied at all times by a parent or guardian. Overall event limit of 300. No refunds, deferrals. Transfers before 2nd March 2025. No Entry on the Day.
Waiting Lists
If the event becomes full, waiting lists will be used. Being on the waiting list does not guarantee an invitation to enter the event. If you do not receive an invitation and are not registered on the event, please do not take part. Non registered participants are not welcome.
Dogs
Well behaved dogs are very welcome but must be covered by public liability insurance and kept on a lead and under close control by the owner at all times.
