Winter Trail Race Championships - Auchengillan
A friendly & well organised trail race for all ages and abilities. The event starts and ends in the wonderful grounds of Auchengillan - a 10 minute drive from Milngavie.
There will be a 1.5 mile fun run beforehand (10.50am start) for 5-16 year olds. £2 enter in advance or £3.50 on the day. Some fun prizes on offer! This is fully within the grounds of Auchengillan.
Solo 5/10 mile or 2-leg relay!
The 10 miles is 2 laps of the 1 lap 5 mile course.
The 2 person relay consists of doing the 5 mile course, once, each, with an arena changeover.
The course is 5 miles with c225m climb and all off road. A proper multi terrain race!
It will be tough… but YOU are tough! Are YOU up for it?…
The course offers you the pleasure of running through picturesque open moorland , some fast forest running, stunning views, steep climbs, west highland way and open grassland. It is a brand new amazing course that will certainly challenge but not disappoint, with the vegetation at its best ! It will be fun! The rest is a mystery…
Start Time - 11am
Cut off time for both 5/10 mile and relay = 3 hours.
If you are on the 10 mile option and do not complete the 1st lap in 1.5 hours , you will be asked to withdraw from the race, but will feature in the 5 mile results.

- 1st male team on 5 mile course: 4 to count
- 1st female team on 10 mile course: 4 to count
- Female/ Open/ V50 Female/ V50 Open 10 mile
- Female pair/ open pair relay , V50 Female pair/ V50 Open pair/ U18 & Parent pair relay.
16-18s only on 5 mile or relay.
Race bibs & chip timing, well signed course , free race photos, bag store, and prizes for class podium placers/ spot prizes.
Toilets & free parking on site.
Mince pies & mulled wine for all.
Party after, details tbc
We will only accept number transfers on the day of the race. Please come to Race HQ where there will be a transfer form for you to fill in. Please note there will be an administration charge of £3 per transfer.
All profit will be distributed between Glasgow Universities’ Orienteering and Trailrunning club, 1st Milngavie Scout Group , and Auchengillan Outdoor Centre.
