Set in the beautiful high Pennine valleys of Calderdale, the routes run over tracks across the surrounding moors with stunning views of the area. There are, however, some steep ascents and descents as the route takes you from moor top to moor top.
The event, run every year since 1979, raises money for 24th St Paul's Scouts and the work we do with young people of this town. The long route of 36 miles involves some 5500 feet of ascent, whilst the medium route of 26 miles has 3800 feet of ascent and the short 17 mile route has 2700 feet of ascent. Please see the event website for details. The routes start (registration & kit check as well) at Sowerby St Peter's Cricket Club as usual.
As some of the terrain is harsh, the organizing committee recommend that navigation skills are required, especially if the weather is inclement.
