Race Date: Thurs 17th July 2025
Time: Registration opens at 6pm. Briefing at 7pm. Race starts at 7.15pm. To confirm we have erected a marquee for the race HQ which can be found on the green just in front of Countess Walk, Stapleton, Bristol, BS16 1EU.
Course: A challenging 10km around Stoke Park.
Registration and issuing race numbers and chips for timing will be at Countess Walk from 6pm, with the race briefing at 7pm and the start at 7.15pm. The course will be fully marked and there will be numerous marshals cheering you on. The course is slightly different to previous years so if you would like to reccie the route, the gpx can be downloaded from: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/47547869. Please note the final race day route is subject to confirmation.
Chances are it’s going to be fairly warm so please consider carrying some water with you. It’s a tough course with some steep climbs! Please also bear in mind that the ground will be hard and there are plenty of tree roots and rocks to trip over, so you’ll need to watch your step and wear appropriate running shoes.
Category changes:
New for 2025, we have changed our race categories in line with England Athletics eligibility guidelines. The Male category is now an Open category to include male and non-binary entrants. The Female category excludes transgender women unless they have approval from England Athletics.
Transport and parking:
If at all possible, please share transport with fellow runners. As a club, TACH is concerned to minimise the environmental impact of its events, as well as the impact on local residents. Parking is available at Snuff Mills car park, River View, Stapleton, Bristol, BS16 1DL which is an approximate 10-15 minutes walk to race HQ. N.B. the car park closes at 9.15pm.
There will be marshals showing you the route to the race HQ. It is really important that all runners please park at the car park identified where possible and avoid parking on Countess Walk or surrounding roads. We have over a hundred runners competing and we want to avoid the impact on local residents so that we are welcome back and can run this event in future.
We also encourage the use of public transport. The number 46 and 50 buses from Bristol City Centre to the Stapleton Baptist Church / Stapleton Church stops respectively will also get you within a 10-15 minute walk to the race HQ.
Prizes awarded to: 1st, 2nd and 3rd (Open and Female) as well as first V40, V50, V60 and V70+ (both Open and Female). Spot prizes may also be given.
Event Rules
1. Earbuds or headphones
We do not encourage the use of earbuds or headphones during any TACH races. If you decline to follow this advice, be aware that this is your responsibility. Note that you must be alert to instructions from marshals, the risks of road crossings and the needs of fellow runners at all times. This is for the safety of yourself and others. If you insist on wearing them, earbuds or headphones MUST be removed at all marshalled road crossings, runners risk disqualification if they do not follow this requirement. Note: Bone conduction headphones that keep the ear open to hear ambient sounds are a better option.
2. Short-cutting the route knowingly
Runners must follow the course at all times, the penalty for deliberately cutting the course will be at the Race Director's discretion
3. Gender policy
When entering your gender please ensure you comply with the eligibility for the gender category as outlined by England Athletics. A non-binary gender category is available.
4. Pregnancy policy
We offer 100% refunds to runners who notify us of pregnancy. Please email us at purdownpursuit@tach.club to arrange this.
5. Guide runners
Guide runners for the blind, visually impaired, or disabled runners are welcomed. Both the blind, visually impaired or disabled runner and their guide runner must register for the event. We offer free entry for guide runners, please email purdownpursuit@tach.club to arrange this. Note: guide runners are not eligible for any prizes.
Pairs should both have experience of running on the equivalent terrain to that found in the race.
6. Prizes
