Get ready to lace up your trail shoes and shake off the holiday cobwebs! The Booze Run is here for its inaugural year, bringing festive cheer and a splash of adventure to the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Here's what's in store:
When: 29th December, between Christmas and New Year - the perfect time to burn off those mince pies!
Where: The scenic village of Arkengarthdale with a pitstop at you travel though Booze itself (yes it's a real place)
What: A category BM fell race, suitable for any trail runner with a decent set of shoes - 9k(ish) of trails, hills and spectacular views.
Why Sign Up?
Friendly and Low-Key: Whether you're a seasoned fell runner or new to the trails, all are welcome.
Festive Fuel: A mince pie and an optional shot of something strong (over 18s only) awaits at the Booze checkpoint to help get you home. A second mince pie will await you at the finish to support your post-race recovery.
Pure Dales Magic: Crisp air, stunning landscapes and the charming Booze village.
Secret Santa: Bring a small, wrapped gift (suggested value around £5). Every competitor who brings a gift gets to collect one from the box at the end of the race. A great way to extend your Christmas!
Prizes: We will present a small prize to the first M and F runner back.
Sign up now and please share with your friends. What's better than running, mince pies and a cheeky festive tipple?
Spaces are limited, so don't wait - the hills are calling!
Parking: Please don't park on the streets in Langthwaite, we have secured a field to park in just past St Mary's Church in Arkengarthdale. There will be signs directing you on the day, the only other suitable parking spot will be the small pay and display car park in Langthwaite itself.
Toilets: There are public toilets in Langthwaite - 20p needed!
Start Time: Race starts at 1pm from the Red Lion pub in Langthwaite.
Gear: FRA rules state that all runners must carry waterproof body cover, hat, gloves, a map of the area, compass, whistle and emergency food. All runners must carry this equipment regardless of the weather.
Run it for the views, the vibe, and the victory mince pie. See you in Booze!
