The Bà Duathlon (BRAND NEW for 2025!) ROUTE MAP
(Sister event of The Bà Sportive)
Rolling start: 4.30-6.30am
Start/Finish: Kinlochewe, Scotland
80mile Duathlon: The off-road run covers 18 miles of Scotland’s finest mountain trails. Climbing and descending 1000m before reaching your bike where you'll ride 62 of the sweetest west coast miles back to Kinlochewe. It's a WEST COAST GIANT!
The road ride section will merge onto the The Bà Sportive route where you'll meet the Sportive riders and all take on the mighty Bealach Na Bà (Closed road section) before continuing around the coast. This duathlon has 3000m of elevation across the ride and run and due to the remote and mountainous terrain of the ride the event has a prerequisite list.
Check it out before entering as you will be asked for more details of your experience in order to secure your place on the start list.

- Closed road over the Bealach Na Bà
- Bike Shuttle from the start line to the transition zone
- Timed segments: the uphill run, downhill dash, and the Bealach climb as well as an overall time

The Bà Event Series is in its first year under the very excited eye of Scottish endurance rider Jenny Graham and consists of two events running simultaneously before merging into one - but which one to choose! Both are jaw-droppingly beautiful, extremely challenging and packed full of WOW’s!!
The Bà Sportive (Formally Bealach Mor) has been passed on by friends at Hands on Events who successfully managed this event for 18years.
The Bà Duathlon is Braaaand new for 2025!
Both are based out of the little highland village of Kinlochewe, where locals will welcome you in, and make sure you’re well caffeinated and fed throughout your visit.
We couldn't do this without the support of the local communities along the route so the events are dedicated to “giving back” as a way of thanks, donating to local public facilities and employing local services at every opportunity.
THE BEALACH NA BÀ CLOSED ROAD
The legendary Bealach Na Bà is yours to enjoy! This iconic climb, linking the remote Applecross peninsula, is closed exclusively for The Bà’s, giving riders a rare chance to soak up its beauty without motor vehicles. It’s all about celebrating the freedom, the views, and the joy of riding one of Scotland’s most breathtaking routes. We welcome spectators with cowbells!!
