STAG’s ever popular SCORE Events conclude with Score 3.

Palacerigg CP hosted STAG's 1st ever Colour Coded event back in 1984. The area was also used by AYROC to host the 2016 Scottish Score Championships.

Located to the south of Cumbernauld the area offers a real mix of O terrain and covers an area of approximately 5 square kilometres with over 10km of tracks and paths.

Although Palacerigg Golf Course itself requires to be Out of Bounds - unless we have a severe winter - the tracks and paths through and around the Golf Course are accessible to orienteers.

The exposed nature of the terrain may require competitors to wear a cagoule.

Planner - Mark Wardle (STAG)

Controller - Fredrik Nordvall Forsberg (STAG)

Course 1 – To visit all the controls you will need to cover a running distance of around 7k > 10k. Competitors require to visit all 10 Even Coded Controls before you can visit any of the remaining 15 Odd Coded Controls.

Course 2 – To visit all the controls in any order will cover a distance of around 7k.

In 2025, we are going for Starts from 12 Noon > 12:45pm to try and combat possible inclement weather and to take the pressure off our planners.

The map and loose control descriptions shall be distributed at the Registration Point (11:30am > 11:50am) to everyone and it remains YOUR DECISION whether to plan before your run or not.

At each event, 25 controls shall be used.
5 “30s” each worth 300pts;
5 “40s” each worth 400pts;
5 “50s” each worth 500pts;
5 “60s” each worth 600pts
5 “70s” each worth 700pts.
The number in “ ” refers to the actual Code Number being used which shall only be shown on the SI Box.
