Come & enjoy the challenge of a night trail run – a truly wild experience on a winter’s night whatever the weather!! We are pleased to present the inaugural race in the Ilfracombe Running Club Starlight Challenge race series - Battle Across Baggy Point! Prepare yourself for bats, owls and shooting stars (or at the very least, some man made junk lofted into the cosmos by Elon Musk).
At IRC, we believe that races should be affordable to all so this event aims to offer maximum fun in return for minimal entrance fees.
Two distances will be offered:
- The 5km course is a single loop with a 125m ascent & starts at 07.30pm. Minimum age is 14
- The10km (ish) is two loops with a maximum of 250m ascent & starts at 07.20pm. Minimum age is 17
- Each distance is limited to 100 entrants so get your entry in fast!
- This is a running event. For the safety of all participants and marshals, there will be a cut off for those doing the 10km option - you must complete the first loop in under 50 minutes.
- A Headtorch (ideally at least 300 lumens with ample battery life), trail shoes and a sense of adventure are mandatory
- Running with dogs is not permitted as per the UKA rules
NOTE: a small part of the course uses private land - you cannot run an identical route outside of this event

Race Headquarters: Croyde National Trust car park (///proposals.conquest.toward)
The National Trust have kindly waived the car parking fee for the race (from registration onwards). If you are a National Trust member, please still bring and scan your card such that they still get a donation).
The course will be fully marshaled & medical cover will be provided.
You will be emailed with all the race information a week before the big day.
Race numbers to be collected from Race HQ on the day. Registration from 06.00pm
Prizes
You wouldn't honestly expect prizes for such a bargain of a race, right? Well, think again! The following prizes will be awarded:
- 5km race - 1st, 2nd and 3rd
- 10km race - 1st, 2nd and 3rd
- Both races - mystery spot prizes to selected finishers
