Washington Running Club host an annual 5k race aptly named The Bottoms Up Cup, running through the heart of the iconic Princess Anne Park in the centre of Washington on a Thursday Evening during the summer.
Registration is from 5:30pm at St Robert of Newminster School, Fatfield, NE388AF, parking is also available at the school.
Race starts at 7pm.
The course has been changed slightly over the years to a faster/less congested route but it wouldn’t be a Washington Running Club event without a few naughty hills and some trails (road shoes are suitable though as most of the race will be on pavement).
The fastest male and female runners in both adult and over 40's category will be presented with a trophy at the end of the race. In addition, cash prizes will be offered for both Male and Female for 1st, 2nd and 3rd as well as 1st place for Male and Female over 40 category.
There is also a 1 mile fun run available with entries on the day being £2.50 and will be held after the main race.
