Are you up for an event with a difference? Families in Grief (FiG) and The Wave Project - two local North Devon charities - have joined forces to bring you an exciting 8 mile event – 'Barney to Beach 2025'. Starting in Barnstaple Pannier Market, the route will take you through a variety of terrains - mostly flat - along the Tarka trail with some spectacular North Devon views along the way. We then finish through the dunes and onto the beach at Crow Point. What a journey!
You can view the Barney to Beach route map here
Children
Children can take part along with parent/carers on a Family Ticket and do the full course. As an alternative, there will be a mile-long fun run through the dunes and beach around Crow Point. Ages 4 to 16 are welcome. For the fun run, you can still register on the day at Crow Point Car Park (registration 10.00-10.45am).
Barney to Beach in a nutshell
We regret that the course is unsuitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. Dogs are allowed only with those walking the course ie no dogs with runners. Entry fees are non-refundable.
Friends and Family
Rally your friends and family to wave you off at the start - and then drive to Crow Point to drink tea and eat cake while waiting for you to finish - to celebrate your success!

The registration fees will be raising funds for the work of Families in Grief and The Wave Project - no additional fundraising is required. However, if you would like to raise additional funds for both charities, then that is music to our ears! Provided you commit to raise a minimum of £100 per participant, or £300 as a team, we will waive your entry fee by way of thank you. Please email the team at info@familiesingrief.org BEFORE signing up so that we can issue you with a special registration link to waive your entry fee and provide other support as required.
Proceeds from the event will go to support the work of The Wave Project and Families in Grief (FiG) .
