Morrison’s Academy , Comrie Croft and Scottish Cycling will be hosting the third edition of the Scottish Schools' Mountain Bike Championships. This will be a fully affiliated Scottish Cycling Event.
Date: Tuesday 23 September 2025
Venue: Comrie Croft, Comrie, Perthshire, PH7 4JZ
Cost: £18 per pupil
You have one hour from when you started the entry process before you must start the payment process, after which time these transactions will expire and you will have to reconfirm your details.
Race Format: The race will be a XC event and competitors will compete in 3 age categories. There will be both individual girls and boys events and a team event.
PARTICIPATION
The organising team are hoping to increase girls participation from last years' event.
Race Competitors: All competitors must be enrolled as a pupil in school at the time of racing and should be entered at the appropriate age group. Pupils should only be entered for one individual race category on the day. Schools may enter a maximum of 4 pupils per race category.
Entering an under-18 rider
The school representative needs to register and be logged in as themselves.
Only one representative of a school can add entries for the school. If the school is shown as Unavailable, this means that a representative of the school has already started adding entries. If you are the representative, you can add or modify entries.
This year entries will need to be paid for at the time of booking, so please ensure that the riders are committed to taking part. Riders can be amended (without charge) up until 10th September, but it will not be possible to add a rider to a race that is already full. Please note last year some race categories filled quickly.
RACE CATEGORIES
Coaches wishing to ride on the course with racers must register on arrival at the pole barn and will be given a coaches vest. This will allow coaches to ride the course prior to the race starting.
Please Note:
Pupils who are in S3 but still U14 will race in S3/4 races.
Pupils who are in S5 but still U16 will race in S5/S6 races.
Team Events: All schools with sufficient riders will automatically be entered in the team competition.
In the event of a draw we will go to the fourth and fifth riders and then subsequent riders until we have a team winner.
Course Details:
All category races will finish when the fastest rider crosses the line, slower riders will end their race at the end of the lap they are completing.
How technical is the course: S1/2 and S3/4 races are on blue (moderate) trails. These can be ridden by any fit rider with intermediate skills on a mountain bike with front suspension. S5/6 will race on some additional red graded terrain, there are some rock and root features, but everything is rollable.
Feed Station: There is designated feed station on the race route and this will be clearly marked for all racers should they wish to use it during their race.
Gridding: At the start of each race we will ask schools to put their most able riders to the front of the race, this will be explained at the briefings to staff. So knowing the ability of your riders is very helpful. Grid places will be pre-drawn by the race Director and called at the start of each race.
