The CS Lewis 5 Mile Challenge is a multi-terrain race.
The course is an out-and-back route. The race starts under the shadow of Aslan on the CS Lewis Square. From there, the course follows the Greenway leading to Victoria Park. In the park, the runners are taken on four different loops over various surfaces (trail, grass and concrete). After the four varied loops are completed, the runners leave the park and make it back to CS Lewis Square along the Greenway.
The CS Lewis Square is named after the illustrious East Belfast-born author of the Chronicles of Narnia. The Square offers an environment conducive to a festive pre- and post-race atmosphere.
Signs with CS Lewis quotes will be posted around the course to inspire the runners and help the participants stay mentally strong to complete their challenge.
There will be prizes for the top three female and male runners as well as for the female and male age category winners. There will also be plenty of spot prizes given randomly, including local ales from the neighbouring Boundary Brewery.
