NOVICES FELL RACE
This event is aimed at;-
- Beginners -those that have not done a fell/mountain/hill race before, who have wanted to but have been put off.
- Novices - people who have only done 1 or 2 fell races and want a little bit more experience.
- Returners - people who have not raced for over 5 years and may have lost confidence, but want to come back
NOT EXPERIENCED FELL RUNNERS
It is a proper fell race at approx 5km with about 350m of climb, following established tracks, but all off road with some steep climbs and descents. There will be plenty of markers and marshals to keep you on track (map reading skills can be used another time). We are even allowing friends to run alongside and give encouragement out on the course.
There may be compulsory kit, this is for your own safety and those around you. The maximum this will be will be Whistle, waterproof jacket and trousers, hat & gloves (and something to carry it in)
If anyone is interested we are intending to do an introduction to basic map reading (map and compass work) before the event. Please let the organiser know if you would like to do this.
No dogs (sheep)
Parking, there is pay parking in Church Stretton, the train station is less than ½ a mile from registration and the start. If you are driving to this event please car share where possible.
