Mills n Moors Series
Join us as we connect the varied 'off-road' tracks that radiate from Blazing Saddles bike shop in Hebden Bridge out into the Calder Valley on our women's gravel bike and mtb event.
There are three routes that tell the story of women and girls everyday and extraordinary resistance and rebellion across the mills and moors of West Yorkshire.
- Rebel Girls: 20km / 380 meters of climbing
- Wainstall Waifs: 47km / 890 meters of climbing
- Gentleman Jack: 77km / 1,640 meters
Maps of each route on the Yorkshire Divide website: https://yorkshiredivide.co.uk/mills-n-moors-series
The start line is at Blazing Saddles in Hebden Bridge
You will receive all three gpx route files in the week leading up to the event
Proceeds from the event will be donated to Overgate Hospice, Elland, West Yorkshire

Any gravel bike / mountain bike / E-bike is welcome and would get you around the route
It’s your choice which route to ride
Each route has sections of trail which are smooth and those that are gritty
It is a self-guided ride with no way markings saying ‘Mills n Moors route’
Minimum age of 12 years old when accompanied by a parent / guardian
The rides on the 'Mills n Moors Series' are a personal challenge, they are not race, there is no ‘mass start', the route is NOT way marked and there is no rescue vehicle.
We ride on bridleways, tracks, forest trails, moorland singletrack, dry peat, soggy peat, urban greenways and the canal towpath.
Some downhill and uphill sections are physically challenging and there are tracks across open moorland therefore all riders should pack full waterproofs and have an emergency contact number.
Riders take part in a Mills n Moors event knowing that it is their personal responsibility to ensure they follow the Highway Code when on roads, the Countryside Code when out on the moors and their own judgement when faced with changing weather and varied trail conditions.
The event is for all women, CIS, trans women and non binary folk.
Any question about the ride then please contact Jill / Anna at: Resistance.Rebellion@outlook.com
