Ling Common is a beautiful area of mixed woodland which has been recently remapped to fully show the wealth of contour detail and a wide range of features. The area has some great areas of runnable woodland, several sand hills, numerous ponds, and even a boulder! The area is relatively free from thick undergrowth and favours direct running, though the north west quadrant can be boggy after significant rainfall. Whilst the majority of the area is flat, there are some very steep slopes in the north east part of the map.

Punching Start & Finish. Other controls are enabled for contactless SIAC use. Should the control not respond to a contactless ‘punch’ it is the competitor’s responsibility to undertake a manual ‘punch’.
Car Parking, Assembly, Start/Finish
Assembly will be in the parking area of North Wooton Academy on Priory Lane but parking IS NOT available there. Please park on local roads being careful to maintain access to driveways and not causing obstruction. From here it is an easy 500m walk along track/paths to start crossing only Priory Lane. Those who are not traffic aware must be accompanied by a suitably competent person.
The route from finish to download (200m). Please remember to download after finishing or if retiring. There are no toilets available. The closest are at Asda , South Wooton, just over 1 mile south of the event.
