Welcome to the Drone Valley Trail Half Marathon, a brand new 13.1-mile race through the stunning Derbyshire countryside. Starting and finishing at the Drone Valley Brewery in Unstone, this trail race offers runners the chance to explore the best of the local landscape, with its mix of forests, fields, hills, and canal paths. This race is perfect for anyone training for their first trail marathon.
After crossing the finish line at the Brewery, all runners will receive a custom race medal and a free pint of beer to celebrate their achievement.
Runners will be provided with GPX files and written directions to follow. There will be one aid station at the halfway point but no other marshals on the route. You are responsible for your own navigation and safety.
The Drone Valley Trail Half Marathon will be run under UK Athletics rules and UKA affiliated runners will receive a £2 discount on their entry fee. The race costs £23 for UKA affiliated runners, and £25 for unaffiliated runners. The minimum age to take part is 16. No dogs permitted. Refunds will only be given in the event that the race is cancelled.
The race starts and finishes at the iconic Drone Valley Brewery in Unstone. Runners may choose their own start time. Although the route follows good paths with few hazards, we all know the weather can be unpredictable. It is essential that all participants carry a waterproof jacket, warm layers, and a working mobile phone with the race director's phone number saved (Charlie Knight - 07905 657959).

The Route:
The route follows a mixture of forest paths, fields, bridleways, and the occasional minor road. It is a hilly course with around 1700 feet of elevation. Runners can follow the route using the GPX file below. This GPX is a rough estimate as the route is subject to change. The final GPX file will be sent to runners within two weeks of the event day.
