Rolling start - Start time to suit you, anytime between 11am and 1pm. (You must start before 12pm if doing 3hour course option). Can be done solo, in a pair, or as a friends/family team of 3 or more. Each participant needs to put in an individual entry EXCEPT juniors under 18 who can go for free with a paying adult. Juniors up to age 18 go for FREE but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over 21. Juniors aged 16 and above can run alone with parental permission. A waterproof map of the course is provided to ALL participants.

Sunday daytime countryside Spunch from Hollinsclough School Summer Fair, Carr Lane, Buxton SK17 0RH.
A collaboration with the parents & teachers at Hollinsclough School who are staging the annual School Summer Fair. Come and run or walk your Spunch course, then enjoy the fun and facilities at the Summer Fair, including Tea & Cake Stall, Sausage Sizzle / Burger stall and Beer Tent!
(Not to mention the Tombola, Coconut Shy, Welly Throwing, etc etc!)
1/2/3 hour score course options (choose on the day itself). Parking, Bag Drop, Loos, Start, Finish, Food & Drink all at or near the Summer Fair event centre. Daylight countryside Spunch for runners & walkers from the delightful village of Hollinsclough in its spectacular Peak District setting including the Chrome Hill ridge. Family friendly & dog friendly too.
We return to Hollinsclough, this time to coincide with the local school Summer Fair.
Run, jog or walk - suitable for trail runners, park runners, road runners, fell runners, adventure racers, orienteers, walkers, newcomers, and families alike. 3k to 33k, the choice is yours! Great for families and friends to do together. Suitable for all ages and abilities - lots of help available for newcomers. Newcomers & locals are always especially welcome. Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a lead and under control at all times.
Start at your convenience anytime between 11am & 1pm. (Last start for the 3 hour course 12pm). Registration open from 11am.
Navigating with an enlarged and enhanced 1:12,500 OS Explorer map, visit as many checkpoints as you can in the time available, S-punching using the MapRun app on your smartphone, Garmin or Apple Watch.
Explore the area's rich network of excellent trails, paths and lanes. You can expect some hills in parts of the area - for which you will be rewarded with some great views. Will you head north onto Chrome Hill and Hollins Hill? Or south to Hollinsclough Moor. Maybe west up the Dove valley towards Tenterhill. Even locals will likely discover new paths and places!
Great food and drink available back at the School Fair after your run / walk. Hopefully the weather will be kind and we can enjoy an afternoon in the sun. The school fair is very family-friendly. Well behaved dogs welcome too.
The venue is set in the upper reaches of the Dove Valley, just south of Buxton (15 mins) and just north of Leek (20 mins). It is particularly convenient for Leek, Biddulph, Congleton, Macclesfield, Disley, New Mills, Whaley Bridge, Chapel-en-le-Frith, Buxton, Bakewell, Matlock & Ashbourne etc.
With the course being curated by (to be confirmed) you can expect to be shown the highlights of the area, be they good views, the nicest paths or route choice dilemmas!
