Field at Winter Crag Farm, Martindale, 7km SW of Pooley Bridge. £2 car parking fee. Parking not suitable for large vehicles.

Blue 5.0km, 320m
Green 4.3km, 250m
Short Green 2.9km, 150m
Very Short Green 2.4km, 140m **See note below
Orange 2.4km, 190m
Yellow/Novice 2.1km, 150m
**Very Short Green - this is the same course as Short Green but with some controls missed out. If you want to do Very Short Green, enter Short Green and pick up a Short Green Map at the start. The map will show which controls to miss. You can decide while on the course whether to take the Very Short Green cut-off.
Map
All courses use a 1:7,500 scale map. 5m contours. Control Descriptions will be printed on the front of the map but not available loose.
Groups and Pairs / Extra Maps
If you are new to orienteering and would like to go round as a group or in a pair, just enter one person and use the option to select any additional maps that your group would like at £1 each.
Dibber Hire
Available by pre-order at no charge, £30 if not returned. To pre-order, leave the SI number blank during entry process, and then collect dibber from Enquiries/Download on the day.
Start and Finish
Start between 11:00 and 12:30. The start is located approximately 1km and 50m of ascent from the car park.
The walk from the finish to the car park is approximately 1km, flat/downhill.
Facilities
Portaloo at parking.
Terrain
Fast open fell, characterised by complex contour details and small crags. Steep in places but with great views over Ullswater.
Dogs
Well behaved dogs on leads are allowed in the car parking field and on the course.
Road Crossing
Blue and Green courses cross a road twice - please take care.
Coaching
There will be a coaching session, open to all, before the event. If you would like to attend please tick the box on the entry form. More details will emailed to anyone who signs up, but if you have any questions contact club coach Julie (secretary@borderlinersorienteering.org).
Safety
Whistles are compulsory. Cagoules may be compulsory subject to weather conditions. Shorts may be worn, but note that there is dead bracken on parts of the area. Check for ticks after running. There will be a first aid kit at registration. Competitors with an existing medical condition are invited to leave details in a sealed envelope at registration.
Entry Cancellation / Change
If you are unable to make the event please let us know via the email address. If we are informed by the closing date we will provide a refund less £1 per person to cover admin costs. Before the closing date you can change your course by editing your entry online, but there will be no changes of course on the day.
