She Who Walks: Helwith Tea Garden visit

Please note, this is a women only event. A moderate hike starting at Marske and visiting the Tea Garden at Helwith. Starting from Marske we will follow rights of way across the fields before climbing Skelton Moor. There is an opportunity to bag the trig point here before we descend to Helwith for a stop at the tea garden at around 11.30am. For those wishing to stop for a bite to eat at the Tea Garden, we will arrange to send in a pre-order of either cream scone, bacon roll or egg roll.
We will then return along Marske Beck and through Clints Wood on our return to Marske. Estimated finish time is 1.30-2pm.
As parking in Marske is limited, we will arrange lift sharing as far as possible between the group.
Highlights include:
- Lead by a qualified Hill and Moorland Leader
- Small group of 12 max
Start: 9.15am meet for a 9.30am start
You must be 18+ to enter this event.
You will need:
- Walking boots/shoes and thick socks
- Full length trousers as some sections of the path could be overgrown. Jeans are not recommended.
- Waterproof jacket and trousers, even if the forecast is dry.
- Sun hat/glasses
- Spare top layer, warm hat and gloves in your pack
- Snacks and drinks in an easy to find section of your bag. We recommend bringing at least 1ltr of drinks with you
- Fully charged mobile phone
- Any personal medication needed
- A comfortable back pack to carry your own kit. You may wish to consider putting things inside a plastic bag or other waterproof bag inside your back pack
- Cash for purchases at the tea garden.
