WORLD FEMALE HEAVY EVENTS CHAMPIONSHIP
Making Scottish History - this year will mark a historic milestone; the first ever World Female Heavy Events Championship in Scotland, hosted at Glenurquhart Highland Games. This ground breaking event celebrates women’s strength, skill and determination and we hope that showcasing these athletes on a world stage will be an inspiration to future generations.

Automatic qualification for athletes meeting the following standards:

| Shot Putt | 9lbs | 27 feet |
| Weight For Distance | 16lbs | 51 feet |
| Weight Over the Bar | 28lbs | 12 feet |
| Scots Hammer | 13lbs | 70 feet |

Entry Deadline is 1st July 2025. After that date, remaining competitors will be selected based on personal bests. If fewer than 12 entries have been received applications will reopen on July 5th.

Limited to 8 competitors due to the World championship schedule.
Junior Heavy Events
Athletes will compete in five traditional throwing events.
Open to athletes born between 31/12/07 and 23/08/13.

TRACK & FIELD
Always a crowd favourite, our athletes programme offers a wide range of sprints, middle distance races and jump events across female and open categories.
We also host a number of Under-15 events for athletes born before 01/09/2011.

PIPING COMPETITION
No Highland Games would be complete without piping. We host a variety of competitions, including the classic Piobaireachd, open to both senior and junior pipers.

LOCAL EVENTS
These are part of our morning programme starting at 10:30am and are only open to competitors from the local community.
We hold competitions in traditional heavy events and track & field in the following age categories:
- Open Senior (born before 01/09/2009)
- Under 16 (born 01/09/2009 - 31/08/2013)
- Under 12 (born 01/09/2013 - 31/08/2017)
