The Long Mynd Valleys Race is the classic Shropshire Fell Race - a race of two parts with much fast running in the first seven miles gradually transforming into longer, steeper climbs and brutal descents. You'll need previous experience of fell running in poor conditions, and if the clouds are down you may need to be able to navigate effectively in low or zero visibility.
The Long Mynd Valleys has been used three times for the English Championships with good reason - it's probably one of the hardest races run in winter. It is also a qualifying race for April's Three Peaks Race.
If you have the experience why not come and spend the weekend running in Shropshire, taking in the short Titterstone Clee race on the Saturday too.
Pre-entry only.
FULL FRA KIT is mandatory (including a map) - "no kit no go" will be strictly enforced.
Maps are available from Pete Bland Sports.
This is a TOUGH race and PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED
You must provide a valid internet hyperlink to results of a recent relevant event (e.g. AM, AL or BL fell race or a mountain marathon).
NOTE: IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO LOOK UP PREVIOUS RESULTS FOR 200+ ENTRANTS, SO YOU MUST PROVIDE A WORKING HYPERLINK. IF YOU FAIL TO DO THIS, YOU WILL NOT BE ASKED TO COMPLETE YOUR ENTRY ONLINE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RUN - WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CHASE YOU THIS YEAR.
When you make your entry you will receive an email informing you that you are on a waiting list and will be contacted when a place becomes available. We will vet previous experience in batches roughly once a week and you will then be sent an email asking you to finalise your entry.
