Race Information

Handsworth Hobble is 5.25m /8.5km (approx.) trail race in the SE of Sheffield. Passing through the beautiful Shirtcliffe Valley between Handsworth & Woodhouse, this undulating course is perfect for a challenging mid-week race. The course is off-road, fully marshalled, through woodland trails and fields, which can be muddy underfoot in wet conditions. We advise wearing trail shoes in wet weather conditions.
Race HQ is at The Old Crown Inn, 406 Handsworth Road, S13 9BZ. Drinks will be available to purchase before and after the event. Race numbers will need to be collected on the day from The Old Crown Inn – please ensure you attend in good time to do this. Participants will then walk the short distance to the course for a prompt 7.30pm start.
Water is provided to all participants at the end of the course.
We welcome all runners to stay for a drink and prize presentations at The Old Crown Inn after the race.
Prizes
Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:
• 1st, 2nd and 3rd M/F
• 1st M/F for v40, v50, v60 and v70.
There will also be a small number of spot prizes.
Transport
- Road - There is no designated parking, therefore if you are parking on nearby streets we ask that you do so responsibly and respectfully of local residents. Car sharing is encouraged where possible to reduce the amount of traffic on local roads.
- Bus - Many local bus services (30, 30a, 53, 53a, 73, 74a, 216, X54, X5, X55) stop at the bus stops on Handsworth Road, providing direct access from Sheffield city centre, Rotherham and many other suburbs across the city region.
- Rail - Woodhouse train station is the nearest rail link, approximately one mile from race HQ. Services run on the Sheffield to Lincoln line.
Refunds/Transfers
Please note we cannot offer refunds on entries, but we do allow the transfer of names before the entry close date.
