Entries:

Only pre-entries are allowed with no entry on the day. Entry fees are £5 for adults, £2 for juniors (under 21) and students. Please note, these fees are the same for individuals, pairs or small groups. e.g. two adults running together would pay just £5, not £10. There is space on the entry page to add details of any other persons sharing your entry.

If you are a newcomer to the sport and do not have a an orienteering dibber (to record visiting the controls, also called an SI-Card) then please indicate that you need to borrow an SI-Card.

Any SROC members who do not own a dibber can request - contact Chris Roberts - to collect one at the event and keep it for the foreseeable future.

Courses:

Yellow - suitable for beginners, including younger juniors, with little or no experience

Orange – suitable for Juniors with some map reading experience and family groups with no experience

Green – experienced orienteers only. A physically and technically demanding course

Blue - experienced orienteers only. Similar to the Green only longer

Please note that the courses are all different to the night event courses on the previous evening, although some of the control sites used are the same.

Controls (including the finish) are in beacon mode so they can be punched contactlessly if you have a SIAC. This does not apply to the dibbers available for hire.

Terrain:

Map A4 1:7500 5m contour

A country park with a good path network. Some mature woodland and open areas with good contour detail in places.

Start:

Facilities:

First Aid – a first aid kit will be available at download for people to self administer.

Safety:

There are exposed tree roots and stone pathways which can become slippery when wet. The perimeter road is crossed on the longer courses (Green and Blue). Take care when crossing this road which is one-way (clockwise) and drivers may not be expecting to see runners.

You must report to the finish and download after the event, even if you retire.

Waterproof jackets will be made compulsory if conditions require it.

We will be following BOF’s current COVID guidelines but trust everyone will be using their common sense to ensure that all competitors and the public are as safe as possible. Please maintain social distancing and adhere to the British Orienteering Participant Code of Conduct.
