Mixed terrain including old town, newer estates and adjacent parks and woodland providing a range of challenges for both new and experienced orienteers, with some climb to test the legs.
The area is urban, largely residential. The start is adjacent to a leisure centre set in grassy parkland, off the east end of the main road through the town centre. The event is on a Sunday when the town is quiet but please do take care while crossing roads.
All courses apart from Yellow also visit woods. The woodland has a path network which will be muddy and slippery.
