Start - Details to be released just before the event
Start time is 13:30 with registration for number collection from 12:15 until 13:15.
This is a pairs event only, you must stay with your partner throughout the event. Details of pairs will be collected just before the event.
The event will count as a 'Medium Race' for the Callin Wild League if you and your partner can collect 100 points or more from the course.
Senior runners must be at least 18 on the day of the race. Juniors may run with a partner who is 21 years or older, junior minimum age on the day is 14. Parental consent is required. This race does not count towards the junior league.
A map and locations / scores of all checkpoints will be provided at the start of the race.
You then have 2.5 hours to visit as many check points as you can. (Pairs are set off at regular intervals.) Each check point is worth between 20 and 40 points, and you choose your route. If you're late returning, you lose 5 points per minute. If you're over 30 minutes late, all points are lost.
The winner is the pair with the most points in the shortest time. Each member of the pair will get the same number of league points: 50 pts allocated for first, 46 for second, then 44 for third, 42 for fourth etc. Pair positions 25+ receive 1 league point.
The event involves quick thinking, route choice and navigation.
Held under FRA rules, waterproof whole body cover (with hood and taped seams), hat, gloves, map (provided) and compass suitable for navigation, whistle and emergency food are required.
