The Dark Peak 60 is an unsupported, time-trial, orienteering type event for both runners and cyclists.

Following historic footpaths, dismantled railway lines and ancient bridleways, this unsupported, 60km+ time trial can be completed solo, in pairs or as a team.

Crossing high, windswept moorland and beautiful, deep valleys, you will pass through some of the most spectacular scenery in the northern Dark Peak region.

With no mass start, entrants decide their own start time.

Runners: from 08:00am to 09:00am

Cyclists: 09:30am to 10:30am

This is an unsupported event, with no aid stations provided along the route. Entrants must be totally self-sufficient. Runners must provide their own support crew on route, to provide food and drinks etc. Entrants are responsible for arranging their own provisions to be collected should they not be able to complete the course. If retiring from the event, entrants must inform event control immediately and in all circumstances must return to event control in person. Failure to do so, could result in a ban from participating in future events.

Entrants must carry a map covering the whole route from Ordnance Survey maps, OL21: South Pennines and OL1: The Dark Peak.
