This is a scenic route with 4400ft of ascent, via Loughrigg Tarn, Skelwith Bridge, High Tilberthwaite, Coniston and Tarn Hows then Cumbria Way back to Ambleside.
A cut off will apply at Skelwith Bridge at 3pm (Checkpoint 4). Limited catering at checkpoints and finish. Please note that exact details relating to start times, general organisation and catering will all be subject to final confirmation nearer the event date.
Regrettably no dogs on this event, it is lambing time in the Lakes. All entrants to bring a mug. Parking in public car parks in Ambleside, car parking charges apply. No parking in church or Parish Centre grounds.
Event Rules: Throughout the event all entrants must carry or wear, as appropriate, the following: Route description; maps as above; compass; whistle; emergency food and drink; waterproof and windproof upper clothing and trousers.
Safety: Entrants must follow the route, checking in at all checkpoints. Anyone planning to retire must do so at a checkpoint. All starters including any who have retired must report in to the finish. LDWA marshals are authorised to short route or retire anyone failing to comply with the event rules or who in their opinion is unfit to continue.
LDWA / Ambleside AC Membership: Please note that entries will initially be open to LDWA members only. Ambleside AC Members will then receive priority entry from the 1st November and entries will be opened to everybody else on 1st December 2023. You can now join the LDWA via SiEntries and receive the cheaper member's rate. If doing this then please join the LDWA first, as you will then be issued with an LDWA Membership number. Please then come back and enter this event and quoting your new membership number to get the member's discount.
