The Tywarnhayle 10K is part of Cornwall's Multi-Terrain Race Series. Starting from Mount Hawke cricket club at 11am the race takes in some coast path around Chapel Porth and back towards Porthtowan before a loop around Tywarnhayle mine.
Constraints of the course and HQ mean places have to be limited to 230 runners.
As with all Truro Running Club events, we're giving away 3 free places to anyone who is 22 or under on race day AND 3 free places to anyone who has never entered a formal race before (honesty call please!). Do contact us about it if this is you.
The route can be found on Strava here: https://www.strava.com/routes/2853117112395182616 or on OS maps here:
These are all footpaths that are generally open so feel free to recce it. There are some technical descents, lots of mud, and a bit of river to run up - but the views will be worth it if you are brave enough not to concentrate on where you are putting your feet!
There is a small section of Coast Path in the race and we are pleased to say we are a "Coast Path Friendly Event" - £1 from all entries will go to the South West Coast Path Association and be put towards maintenance of the path.
There will be a full runners briefing coming out by email the week before the race. Please also monitor our facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/368870051300123) for updates.
If you find you can't run then you can still transfer your entry to a friend by doing a transfer on SiEntries (without a fee). You need to do this by the end of 3 October so we can transfer over your number. Please feel free to offer any transfers on the Tywarnhayle 10K facebook page but please don't contact the race organisers about it.
UKA Licence ID: TBC. ARC permit number 24/0644
There will also be a children's race, the Twarnyale24. After the adults race goes, the children will be set off round the starting field. Who can get the most laps done in 24 minutes? All ages welcome up to 15 years maximum, each participant will get a medal and a banana. Entry fee £5 payable on the day.
