This will be the 21st year of the Exe to Axe. The Exe to Axe is a challenging trail run from Exmouth to Seaton along the Southwest Coast Path. The race was the brain child of John Perratt, a talented local runner who you would still see near the front of a race in his 70s. John loved a challenge, which is why he created this race. Thankfully, it’s not only difficult… it’s beautiful!
This year we’re running four events in one:
- Exe to Axe (Full) – the full 22 miles
- Exe to Sid – the first 11 miles to Sidmouth
- Sid to Axe – the second and most challenging half from Sidmouth
- Exe to Axe Marathon - in aid of Sidmouth Hospice at Home

Start Locations: The Exe to Axe and Exe to Sid start @ 10am opposite Mickey's Beach Bar & Restaurant, Exmouth (a change for previous years). The Sid to Axe starts @ 11:00am by the Flag Pole opposite the Lifeboat Station on the Esplanade.
Finish Locations: The Exe to Axe and Sid to Axe finish in Seaton at the far end of the espalande.; The Exe to Sid finshes at the Flag Pole, opposite the Lifeboat Station on the Esplanade.
The Exe to Axe and Sid to Axe are chip timed; for logistics reasons, the Exe to Sid will be manually time, but every competitor will be listed in the results with their time.. All maps and other information are available on the website, http://www.sidmouthrunningclub.co.uk (select Exe to Axe 2025 from the side menu).
Check Points: water and snacks available near Budleigh Salterton (///nicer.modes.distract), Sidmouth (///weds.guises.crowned) and Branscombe (///disprove.roofs.widely).
Pre-race Transport: Transport can be purchased for each of the three race options as follows:

Buses leave from the Seaton Coach Park, EX12 2PB (///cabin.strutting.radically) opposite the Tram Station. There is plenty of parking in the Seaton Long Stay Car Park, EX12 2WD (///warp.coasters.riverbank) just up the road. The coaches will leave sharply at 8:30am to ensure you arrive at the registration with sufficient time to collect your numbers and prepare for the start. - Sid to Axe
Buses leave from the Seaton Coach Park, EX12 2PB (///cabin.strutting.radically) opposite the Tram Station. The coaches will leave sharply at 9:45am to ensure you arrive at the registration with sufficient time to collect your numbers and prepare for the start. - Exe to Sid
Buses leave from Sidmouth Ham (West) Car Park (///herds.bands.pill)..The coaches will leave sharply at 8:40am to ensure you arrive at the registration with sufficient time to collect your numbers and prepare for the start.
Hand Baggage: Runners baggage can be transported from the start to the finish, if required.
Restrictions: No runners under the age of 18 and no dogs.
Time Limit: 7 1/2 hours (6 1/2 hours for Sid to Axe)
Cut-off times: Budleigh Salterton 12.30am, Sidmouth 2:15pm, Branscombe 4:00pm, Finish at Seaton 5:30pm.
