The Wandering Wintertime Wobble starts at Norbury Village Hall in South Shropshire SY9 5DX (GR SO 36592). The walk follows a circular route through the Shropshire countryside then climbs on to the Long Mynd, passing the glider station to Pole Cottage. From there it descends and winds to Church Stretton for snacks and drinks at the check point. The next leg climbs up Townbrook Hollow, then down to Coates Farm across Adstone Hill and back via Wentor.
An interesting 19 mile route with about 3,100ft of ascent. There is a 9 hour time limit. A route description is available online to download. This will give you an accurate route which is recommended for safety and to give the greatest enjoyment of the character and views of the countryside. The route description is to be used in conjunction with the OS Explorer Sheet 217 The Long Mynd & Wenlock Edge. You must carry this map with you.
Norbury Village Hall will be open from 07.00 for registration, toast and hot drinks. The Route Description will be available but please download beforehand if you can. There will be one check point providing refreshments at Church Stretton Scout Hut. The route description provides the grid reference for this.
Please bring a present for the bran tub (not exceeding £3).
There will be a mass start at 08.30. A hot meal, hot drinks and a certificate will be waiting at the finish.
All entrants must be over 18. Dogs are not allowed.
