Winter Trail Race Championships - Auchengillan
A friendly & well organised not-for-profit, chip timed trail race for all ages and abilities. The event starts and ends in the wonderful grounds of Auchengillan - a 10 minute drive from Milngavie. On on!
Race briefing 10:50am for 11am start!
1 lap of the course is approx. 4 miles with 600ft (200m) of ascent. There’s a 1-lap race, a 2-lap race and a relay (1-lap each) so something for everyone.
The course offers you the pleasure of running through picturesque open moorland, some fast forest running, stunning views, steep climbs, west highland way and open grassland. It is a brand new amazing course that will certainly challenge but not disappoint, with the vegetation at its best. Full leg-covering recommended. Proper multi-terrain, the rest is a mystery…
There will be a 1.5 mile fun run beforehand (10:30am start) for 5-16 year olds. £2 enter in advance or £3.50 on the day. Some fun prizes on offer! This is fully within the grounds of Auchengillan.
Race bibs & chip timing, well signed course , bag store, and prizes for class winners/ spot prizes.
Toilets & free parking on site.
It will be tough… but YOU are tough! Are YOU tough enough?
Cut off time for both 4/8mile and relay = 3 hours.
If you are on the 10 mile option and do not complete the 1st lap in 1.5 hours , you will be asked to withdraw from the race, but will feature in the 5 mile results.
16-18s only on 4 mile or the relay.
All profit will be donated to Glasgow Universities’ Orienteering and Trailrunning club, 1st Milngavie Scout Group and Auchengillan Outdoor Centre.
