MTB Epics are passionate about off-road adventures on bikes.
We bring challenging and exciting, long distance off-road cycling routes with a relaxed vibe. Our routes have been well-researched and ridden to include every type of trail imaginable, from byways and bridleways, single and doubletrack, trail centres, Sustrans bike paths, woodland, moorland, urban and more…
What are the Cotswolds 100/200/300?
These are multi-distance MTB/gravel routes that have been created with the purpose of linking the many fun descents this area offers.
All the different distances start at 9am on the 6th September 2025 from the Boathouse pub in Bath.
Starting in the city of Bath, the routes heads north into the stunning Cotswolds AONB, which as many off-road bikers know, is such a great area to ride.
The 200 & 300 routes cover the full length of the Cotswolds area there and back. This isn’t a regular ‘there n back’ route though – the return leg is on an entirely different route! The 100 route makes the turn at Painswick where there are lots of camping options for the overnighters, or you can push on for the 50 miles return to Bath.
Riding through Somerset, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire and back again, the many highlights will include some of the best off-road biking trails found in England.
Not only is the riding superb, the views from the Cotswolds escarpment are fantastic too – especially looking west across the Severn valley towards the Black Mountains and the Malvern Hills.
You will encounter a huge array of trail gems over the different distances, taking in bridleways, byways, singletrack, woodland, urban and surprisingly a fair bit of purpose-built MTB trails..
But beware! this is a tough route for bike and rider, with a high technical aspect in some sections and many steep trails, up and down, laden with rocks and roots..

*Cotswolds 100 Two Day Guided Bikepacking Experience*
Open to all women and marginalised genders.
Join us for a relaxed adventure on the Cotswolds 100, a stunning 100-mile route tackled over two days.
Led by Claire Sharpe, a qualified MTB Guide and Coach, this is the perfect opportunity to explore the iconic race course without the pressure of racing. The trip starts alongside the 300, 200 and 100 riders for a taste of the race atmosphere, then enjoy a scenic overnight campout. On the second day, ride to the finish and celebrate with fellow adventurers and racers. Whether you're new to bikepacking or looking for a laid-back experience, this trip is the perfect way to dip your toes into the event.
Day 1:
* Ride 50 miles from the event start to Stroud
* We’ll ride as a group, keeping a chilled pace with regular stops for snacks and to take in the stunning Cotswolds scenery
* Enjoy one coached segment to sharpen your riding skills
* Camp out under the stars at a privately booked out campsite at beautiful Painswick by the river and relax after a rewarding day on the trails
Day 2:
* Tackle the (relatively easier) remaining 50 miles to Bath, riding together and supporting one another along the way
* Another coached segment will help you build confidence and hone your riding technique
* Finish the day in Bath, with time to mingle and celebrate alongside the Cotswolds 300/200 racers including a photo opportunity at the iconic Royal Crescent
* This is the perfect mix of adventure, camaraderie, and learning—without the pressure of racing!
What's included:
* Entry to the Cotswolds 100 including gpx files and all the other benefits listed above (discounts etc)
* Two days of guided riding and coaching sessions
* Private use of the camping pitches at Painswick
* Two way bag transfer if needed for tent/ overnight bag
Is this for you?
In order to get the most from this experience we ask that riders have a functioning mountain bike and some experience riding off-road trails. If that’s riding blue trails that’s fine!
We also have made this opportunity available to people who identify as women or another marginalised gender which includes (but not limited to) transgender women, cisgender women, transgender men, non-binary people. The bikepacking experience is not open to cisgender men this time round. If this is something you would like to see in the future, please feel free to contact us.
Not sure or have questions, please feel free to get in touch!
