Welcome to the inaugural event of the Iron Oars competition. Hosted in the West Boathouse, it's an event for both rowers and non-rowers who will be competing on primarily indoor rowing machines. There are four events and you're welcome to enter as many of them as you wish. Below is a description of each event. There will be an Open and a Women's category for the individual events.
Event 1: 500m knockout
A 500m knockout competition where two individuals go head to head and the winner progresses to the next round, until only one person remains.
Event 2: Row sprints
An event that combines running and rowing, starting with a 100m run into a 250m row and finished with another 100m run.
Event 3: Concept2 Triathlon
Using the three different concept2 machines, the RowErg, SkiErg and the BikeErg. The event will be run as a timetrial with individuals competing one at a time. The distances will be 3km Bike, 2km Row and 1km Ski.
Event 4: Mixed team relay
2km to be completed rowing by a team of 4 individuals, two guys and two girls, with multiple teams competing at once. The fastest time across the heats will be the winner.
