Entries:

Pre-entries are strongly preferred, with only limited entry on the day so long as we have maps. On-line entries will remain open until very close to the event. Pre-entering ensures you have a map and greatly simplifies things on the day, which on a potentially cold night in November can be no bad thing. Entry fees are £8 for adults (£9 for non-BOF members), £4 for juniors (under 21) and students.

If you are a newcomer to the sport and do not have a an orienteering dibber (to record visiting the controls, also called an SI-Card) then please indicate that you need to borrow an SI-Card.

Courses:

The usual range of NWNL courses i.e. Orange, Green (3.6km 120m climb) and Blue (5.4 km 200m climb).

Controls (including the finish) are in beacon mode so they can be punched contactlessly if you have a SIAC. This does not apply to the dibbers available for hire.

Terrain:

Map A4 scale TBC

Very varied area with wooded valleys, open, exposed fell and some paths and tracks..

Start:

15 minutes start blocks, starts between 17.30 and 18.30. Courses close 20.30. If you expect to need more than an hour and a half please start close to 17.30.

The Start is expected to be close to the parking area. Only go to the start just prior to starting.

Remember to:

  • Clear and check your dibber
  • Physically punch the start and then pick up your map from the box provided (please ensure you only take one).

Finish/Download:

  • Please move away from the Finish quickly, and proceed directly to download forming a queue if necessary. You must report to download even if you abandon your run.
  • Take the splits – these are pre cut. Please move away from download quickly.

Results will not be displayed during the event but will be on the website www.sroc.org in the evening.

Facilities:

First Aid – a first aid kit will be available at download for people to self administer.

Travel Directions/parking:

Parking is expected to be on the roadside, to the West of the area. Check back later for confirmed parking arrangements

You must report to the finish and download after the event, even if you retire.
