Local orienteering event at Rickerby Park, Carlisle, with "O-Cross" mass start race option.
Pre-entry available on all courses (£7 senior, £3 junior). For Novice course there will be some entry on the day, subject to map availability (£8 senior, £3 junior).

Parking: Road-side parking on local streets near to event centre. Potential to use public transport with many busses passing nearby.

Long + O-Cross 4.8km
Short 3.4km
Very Short 2.8km **See note below
Novice (Easy) 2.4km
Long & O-Cross are the same course; O-Cross is head to head mass start, Long is normal interval start. This course has butterfly loops.
**Very Short - this is the same course as Short but with some controls missed out. Enter the Short course and pick up a Short Map at the start. The map will show which controls to miss out for Very Short. You can decide while on the course whether to take the Very Short cut-off.
Map: All courses use a 1:4000 scale map. 2m contours. Control Descriptions will be printed on the front of the map.
Groups and Pairs / Extra Maps: If you are new to orienteering and would like to go round as a group or in a pair, just enter one person and use the option to select any additional maps that your group would like at £1 each.
Dibber Hire: Available by pre-order at no charge, £30 if not returned. To pre-order, leave the SI number blank during entry process, and then collect dibber from Enquiries/Download on the day.
Start and Finish: Mass start O-Cross start 10:50. Starts on all other courses including Long between 11:00 and 12:15. Start is approximately 300m from the event centre, mostly along paths.
The finish is located near to the start.
The start and finish boxes need to be punched, but all other boxes will be SIAC enabled.
Event Centre & Facilities: Stanwix Community Centre will have registration/enquiries, download, results, toilets, tea/coffee (bring mug).
Terrain: Natural parkland on the banks of the River Eden, mostly rough grass with small scattered copses of mature trees.
Dogs: Well behaved dogs on leads are allowed in the car parking field and on the course.
Safety: There will be a first aid kit at the event centre. Competitors with an existing medical condition are invited to leave details in a sealed envelope at registration.
Entry Cancellation / Change: If you are unable to make the event please let us know via the email address. If we are informed by the closing date we will provide a refund less £1 per person to cover admin costs. Before the closing date you can change your course by editing your entry online, but there will be no changes of course on the day.
