Starting at the Pewsey Scout Hut SN9 5ES (SU162601), this circular walk on footpaths and bridleways has beautiful views over the Vale of Pewsey and Marlborough Downs. The route visits many sites of archaeological interest, including Avebury Stone Circle, Windmill Hill, and passes close to the Stone Avenue, Silbury Hill, the Sanctuary and the Long Barrow. It also takes in the Giant's Grave, Wansdyke, Morgan's Hill, Cherhill, Tan Hill.
Light refreshments at all checkpoints, and a light meal at finish. All participants must bring their own mug, and eating implements. We will cater for vegetarians and may have some vegan and gluten free options available, however due to the nature of the checkpoints and the food we can not guarantee that any of the food is specific allergen free,
Limited to 300 entries. E-Certificate for all finishers.
Start Time
Your start time will be the time you register. Registration starts at 07:30, for slower walkers on the 35 mile route. Runners must start after 09:00. Registration will remain open as long as entrants can reasonably reach checkpoint 1 before it closes.
Entrants may be held at a checkpoint until it opens. Checkpoint distances, and opening times are given in the route description.
Time Limit
All entrants must finish by 20:00, and must leave checkpoints during the hours they are open, or they will be retired. To enable us to clear the hall the kitchen at the finish will shut at 19:30. Transport for retiring entrants will be provided back to the start.
