RACE GLOSSARY:

Clip/Check-point - is a Self-Clip station. Clip your TallyCard here. 

The SCORE is an 'Out and Back' from the Clip/check-point, approx 1.5km out and 1.5km back.

Each SCORE you visit will give you 30 minutes of TimeBack. The last and FINAL SCORE gives 45 minutes of TimeBack.

Clip your TallyCard when you reach a Clip/Check-point and at each SCORE. If you decide to take the SCORE your TallyCard must be clipped there, and on your return the the Clip/Check-point before you proceed. 

There are 3 Clip/Checkpoints and 4 SCORES for the 100km and 2 Clip/Checkpoints with 3 SCORES for the 50km.

*You DO NOT have to take the SCORE.*

 

OVERVIEW & ITINERARY

1. At 6pm on Friday 27th June, the 100km runners will be transported to an undisclosed location. For a race start-time of between 8 and 9pm.

2. At 6.30am on Saturday 28th June, the 50km runners will be transported to their own unique location. For a race start-time of between 8 and 9am.

These start locations (DROP ZONES) will be 100km/ 50km from your finishing destination, OCRA Pavilions, Okehampton. This is a straight-line value. You will have done considerably more when you cross the finish-line. Possibly 50% more.

 

3. **YOU WON'T KNOW WHERE THE START IS UNTIL YOU GET THERE **

 

RUN SOLO or TEAMS OF TWO

 

At the start-line (DROP ZONE), each runner will be given the SCORE maps. 4 maps for the 100km and 3 maps for the 50km.

The SCORE maps will be of the immediate area surrounding the Clip/Check-Point and SCORE-Point, with a radius of approx. 5km.

Groups of 6-8 will depart the DROP ZONE at 5-minute intervals.

Time starts when you are given the SCORE map at the DROP ZONE (start of the race).

Any form of navigational tools are permitted alongside the SCORE maps.

Make your way from the DROP ZONE to Clip/Check-Points 1,2,3 (for the 100km), 1,2 for the 50km, using no less than 70% trail between clips. If we see you using predominantly road you will be disqualified.

Each Clip/Check will have it's own SCORE which you can visit to gain a 30-minute TimeBack.

At the Clip/Check-Point you have to make a decision. Take the SCORE to bag 30 minutes of TIME-BACK, or take a chance and carry on to the next Clip/Check.

 The SCORE will be approximately 1.5km from the Clip/Check-Point, 1.5km out and 1.5km back.   

* You must return to the Clip/Check-point to bag the TIMEBACK and each visit will require a clip. The SCORE will also require a clip. Tally cards to be presented at the finish line. If running in a TEAM OF TWO, both runners will need to visit the SCORE AND Clip-Check points and  present their cards at the finish. 

 

There is a SCORE available at each Clip/Check-Point and a SCORE (if you want it ) close to the Finish. This FINAL SCORE will be a 45-minute TIME-BACKER, but it will be more than a kilometre out and the same back.. It’s your decision!

 

** You don’t have to take each SCORE, but in all they could net you 2.25 hours (100km) or 1.75 hours (50km) of TIMEBACK. 

 

EACH RUNNER WILL BE GPS-TRACKED

EACH RUNNER WILL CARRY A SCORE TALLYCARD to be clipped at each Clip/Check-Point and clipped at each SCORE.
