She Who Walks: Barningham Moor

Level 3 – 6 miles (approx) - 721ft of ascent - 3-4 hours
Please note this is a female only event.
We will start from the village of Barningham and ascend up to the trig point at How Tallon and the How Tallon Stone Circle.
During this walk there will be some optional map skills. This is entirely optional and it's not meant to feel like a course! If you don't wish to take part and would rather just relax and enjoy the walk that is also fine!
We will learn how to use a compass to find a bearing for a given feature. We'll then use this skill to help us locate the prehistoric rock art situated on the moor as we return to Barningham.
Due to the time of year and the planned route, please no dogs on this walk.
Mandatory Kit:
- Walking boots/shoes and thick socks
- Full length trousers as some sections of the path could be overgrown. Jeans are not recommended.
- Waterproof jacket and trousers, even if the forecast is dry.
- Sun hat/glasses
- Spare top layer, warm hat and gloves in your pack
- Snacks and drinks in an easy to find section of your bag. We recommend bringing at least 1ltr of drinks with you
- Fully charged mobile phone
- Any personal medication needed
- A comfortable back pack to carry your own kit. You may wish to consider putting things inside a plastic bag or other waterproof bag inside your back pack
